Whereas, the Legislature of the State of Washington in 2005 put the citizens of Washington State in peril by allowing the use of for-profit Automated Ticketing Machines; and

Whereas, the preponderance of independent research and studies have shown, that the use of for-profit Automated Ticketing Machines, has resulted in higher property and injury accident rates; and

Whereas, the use of for-profit Automated Ticketing Machines, arguably, violates the Constitutional principle of Due Process, and grants the state's right of police power to a private for-profit company; and

Whereas, studies have shown, that engineering solutions make motorways safer, not for-profit Automated Ticketing Machines;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, We, the citizens of the State of Washington demand a repeal of the 2005 law allowing for the use of Automated Ticketing Machines in the State of Washington and expect your support and vote for a repeal of Automated Ticketing Machines.
